Lyon, the Capital of Lights

Lyon has a special place in our hearts, and that is due to so many good reasons, one of them being the fact that it earned the title of Capital of Lights. Yes, we are all about light.

Each year, this vibrant city celebrates La Fête des Lumières, its famous light festival, when, for four days, the whole place is covered in light, from the candles placed by the Lyonnaises at their charming windows, to the majestic light shows that you can find throughout different landmarks protected by UNESCO. And speaking of Lumière, did you know that the entire history of cinema pays a tribute to Lyon? Here, in 1895, the Lumière brothers opened the path and pioneered the cinema industry with their first cinematograph. Moreover, Lyon is a major cultural, commercial, industrial and banking center, famous as well for its biotech and software industries.

Chapeau, Lyon, for being a home to so many good things! And for being our home too! For two days, September 17 & 18, the VITA Lighting European Tour stops in Lyon. We hope you can join us!

On September 17, we will be at Espace Foch (27 rue Ferrandière), and on September 18, you can visit us at Scène d’intérieur (101 Avenue des Frères Lumière). Find us both days between 14.00 and 18.00.
